The Probus Club was founded in 1962 as the Gerrards Cross Retired Men’s Club. It meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the Colston Hall, and provides opportunities for retired men to meet, to listen to good speakers and to socialise. There are 120 Members with an average attendance of around 65 at each session.
They gather at 10am for a coffee and a chat. Then at 10.30, there is a speaker on a wide variety of topic and the meeting finishes before 12 noon. Five outings a year are run to such interesting places as Stonor Park, Southwark Cathedral, the Guildhall in London and to Bentley Priory, the HQ of Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain. There are theatre trips, as well as a monthly music group and two very enjoyable lunches each year
