Summer School
OLD FATHER THAMES – RIVER IN ART - 28 JULY
Date: Monday 28th July
Tutor: Andrew Davies is an historian, journalist, author of 8 books, lecturer for the Arts Society, National Trust and the Open University and, for over 40 years, a London Walk guide with his own company 'All About London'.
Description: No Thames, no London - and the history of Britain would be very different! So, it is not surprising that many famous artists have pictured this great highway: Canaletto, Turner, Whistler, Monet. We will follow in their footsteps. Old London Bridge will also play a significant role. This lecture will be fully illustrated.
