Summer School at GXCA: The Perfect Way to Try Something New This Summer

Venue Hire for Anniversaries

Summer isn’t just for holidays and sunshine, it’s the perfect opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, meet new people, and explore a new skill or hobby. That’s exactly what the Summer School at GXCA (Gerrards Cross Community Association) offers. Now in its 41st year, our summer programme has become a beloved local tradition for adults who want to learn, create, and connect in a warm and welcoming environment.

Held at the Memorial Centre in Gerrards Cross, our Summer School runs a variety of full-day courses from 10am to 4pm. Whether you’re interested in painting, history, creative writing, calligraphy, crafts, or music, there’s a course to suit every curiosity. Each session is taught by an experienced tutor and designed to be both engaging and accessible, perfect for beginners or those revisiting a long-lost passion.

One of the highlights of the GXCA Summer School is the atmosphere. You’ll find friendly faces, a supportive environment, and plenty of opportunities to chat over coffee at our on-site café. Many participants return year after year, not just for the learning, but for the sense of community and inspiration it brings. It’s an ideal way to spend a summer’s day with purpose and enjoyment.

Trying something new as an adult can feel daunting, but with our carefully curated courses, welcoming team, and relaxed setting, we make it easy. Whether you're attending solo or with a friend, you’ll leave feeling accomplished, uplifted, and perhaps with a new favourite pastime.
