Tutor: Hazel Godfrey is a Contemporary Basketmaker who works with willow and many other natural materials. She has made commissioned work for public settings, TV productions, and a Gold Award winning stand at Chelsea Flower Show. She has been teaching for 18 years.

Description: Suitable for beginners, this workshop will introduce the relaxing and rhythmic technique of simple coiled basketry. Beginning with a slice of natural wood, you will work with seagrass, raffia, waxed threads and polished linen to make a small basketry form in your own creative style.

Student requirements: Please bring a small pair of scissors, and two large-eyed needles – one blunt ended and one sharp. If you would like to work with a particular colour palette please bring a selection of your own embroidery threads. £8 per person to cover all materials as listed in the course details, payable to the tutor on the day.
