INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE PAPERCUTTING - 30 JULY

Date: Wednesday, 30th July

Tutor: Christine Green trained as a graphic designer, worked for the BBC, was  nominated for a BAFTA, wrote a book about needlepoint and featured in the  BBC’s ‘Make! Craft Britain’ teaching papercutting. She runs numerous courses  and regularly gives talks.

Description: The ancient art of paper cutting is brought bang up to date with this one day workshop. You will master cutting safely and accurately using a scalpel and get to grips with creative freehand lettering to design your own unique paper cuts. You will start with some simple practice exercises, then design a monogram of your initials. You will then design and cut out something more  complex using typography as a starting point; eg. a birthday or anniversary or a  moving house message. Highly rewarding, great fun and just a little bit addictive! Christine will bring everything you need: scalpels, cutting mats, papers, pencil,  resource sheets at a cost of £5, and lots of inspirational material.
