Summer School
PEN AND WATERCOLOUR WASH - 4 AUGUST
Date: Monday, 4th August
Tutor: Sharon Hurst is a Tutor, Demonstrator and TV Artist and is known for the vibrant colours and bold designs in all her work, from fantasy watercolour and silk scarves through to beaded jewellery. Entirely self-taught, she believes in breaking rules because, as she says, “No-one ever taught me any, so I just go my own way and experiment”! Sharon’s work is available in galleries both here and abroad.
Description: Come and try this interesting technique. We will be drawing a cottage, looking at proportion and detail, learning how to simplify the details. This will then be drawn in with a waterproof pen before we lay in a gentle wash of colours.
This is a delightful technique to get you started should you ever want to sit outside and sketch, on holiday for instance.
Tutor will have black pens (£3), paper and some brushes at various prices to purchase on the day if you wish.
Level of course: Details to follow
Student requirements: Watercolour paints, brushes, cloth/paper towel for dabbing & mopping, paper (if you have it), pencil, rubber, waterproof black sketching pen.
