WHY JOIN US?
The snooker hall building was given to the GX Community in 1921 in recognition of those who gave so much in World War 1. The locals commissioned Edward Lutyens to create social spaces for recreational use: a women's room, a games room and a men's room. The men's room was specially designed to house two billiard tables. A contemporaneous plan in the Snooker Hall details this. In 2025, an opportunity arose for us to re-establish the snooker hall here. It was formally opened on November 21 2025.
The current snooker hall houses two full size tables, a modern Riley table and a beautiful Burroughes & Watts table, kindly donated by Sir Scott and Lady Baker. This table was also made in 1921 and has been moved, re-covered and established in position by Burroughes & Watts and is accompanied by the rack and scoring board.

The Members Directory
Members are invited to add their names to a Members Directory on the bottom of the Membership form. This is entirely voluntary but by giving us permission to share your details with other GXCA Snooker Club members (only), we hope we can connect players and build a group of players willing to join a local league for competitions.
Local businesses are welcome to explore Corporate Membership options with us - please email office@gxca.org.uk - a cup has been donated to be presented to the winner of a Business League.
