With a background in research, investigation and  intelligence analysis, retired Chief Immigration Officer Denise Beddows  nowadays writes award-winning espionage thrillers and true crime and, as DJ  Kelly, local history. A member of the Crime Writers Association and the Society  of Authors, she actively supports Chalfont St Giles & Jordans Literary Festival. 

 

Description: The area encompassing the beautiful villages of Gerrards Cross, the Chalfonts,  Denham, Fulmer and Hedgerley have long attracted people to settle. A  surprising number of the area’s residents have been famous. A few, however,  have been downright infamous. Denise will look at the many titled, worthy, talented and famous residents,  including writers, musicians and sportspeople, as well as some of the cruel,  corrupt, treacherous and murderous.
